Latest in Beauty....

Hey gurlies,

You may of heard of beauty boxes? I think most people have by now... I subscribe to glossybox and I haven't really fancied any of the others but then I found Latest In Beauty and it was too good to pass up!! They offer a service where you can pick luxury sized samples for just a couple of quid to try before you buy, which is an absolutely fantastic idea in my opinion. They also do a sample box where you can order 3 sachets/ samples for just a pound and that includes delivery! And last but not least they do monthly beauty boxes! BUT theirs is only £4.95!!! This is an introductory price so may change but I really hope it stays! I ordered a £1 box & the monthly box, let me show you what I got:

With this I also got 3 blemish skin set, cleanser toner & moisturiser, which is awesome!!

Details of what I got.

My latest in beauty box!

The Liz Earle set was an extra, I got a code from a magazine for it to be added to this box. So normally you would just get the mini batiste, the clarins moisuriser, a mans nivea moisturiser & a couple of sachets. But remember it costs less than a fiver where as glossy bos is almost £13!!

So what do you think of latest in beauty? Will you be buying anything? let me know what you think if you do?

Dove hair therapy review!

Hiya all,

Just another very quick update/review for you.
I was sent Dove's new hair therapy range to try a couple of weeks ago as mentioned in my giveaway and I just wanted to let you know my thoughts.

The shampoo: This is a good shampoo, cleans my hair well, doesnt leave it with any residue or make it greasy. My only complaint is it smells like that chemically shampoo smell & I wish it smelt more like dove soap which I adoreeee the smell of!

The intensive repair mask: This is so so good!! my hair is very damaged and this has really helped it become more soft and smooth!

The conditioner: this in my opinion is as good as the repair mask!! I use it more regular than the mask and as above my hair is in so much better condition, its shinny, smooth, healthy looking and feeling and I can actually get the brush through it now!!

So all in I give the range an 8/10 and would highly recommend these products if your hair needs some TLC

Glossy box!

Hey lovelies!

Today I got my FIRST glossy box!! I was so so excited to get it as I had been on the waiting list for quite a while and every month I had looked at reviews on other peoples blogs! Some of the boxes have been outstanding!!
So I get home from college and there's a card through the door!!! aaaaaarghhhhh so I sent my lovely hubby to the local depot to pick up my parcel ;-) and while he's doing that I had a look for reviews on the net and there are a few already and ohhhhhhhh I am so excited about getting the mythic oil as Ive seen some awesome reviews for it and there is an eye cream I really fancy trying. Well the hubs returns with my glossy box under his arm....woohoo...... I open it....

It's so pretty! the box is lovely and definitely will be used to hold some of my masses of make up....I open the glossy box itself....

It's at this point I notice that I haven't got the mythic oil or the eye cream :-( boohoo!!! What I got instead is good, but I did really want those other items.
Anyway here is what I did get.....

Loving the packaging! V urban decay...

I am not blonde anymore but the colours are great for me as I'm not keen on dark brows on me.

Not too keen on this perfume..

A teeny tiny pot and I am not even sure what its for! The info with box doesn't say!

These look really good and I will be interested to try them!

This smells sooooooo lovely, I am trying to swap with someone for the mythic oil just because I am so keen to try it, but if not I will be happy to use this product even if its just because it smells so goooorgeous!!

All in all I am happy with my box, my only real complaint (apart from not getting the items I would have liked, which is no ones fault) is I really don't think glossy box should be putting samples of perfumes in their boxes, as we really can get these for free!! Maybe if they put them in as a little extra that would be nice but it shouldn't be one of the five items! I will be keeping my subscription for a while to give it a good run but if after a few months no items blow me away I might consider trying the feel unique box instead.

Do any of you guys subscribe to any beauty boxes? if so what are your thoughts? Did any of you with glossy boxes get different items to me?

FOTD with all MUA products.

Hey everyone, me again!

After getting my MUA goodies today I felt compelled to do a look with all MUA products.

So I used MUA extreme metallics in go getter, the Mosaic blush, Extreme curl mascara, MUA lipstick in shade 2 and MUA pressed powder in shade 3.

Here is the look:

And here is a close up on the eyes!

For this look I put the pink colour all over my lids, I then put the lighter brown into the crease and used a pencil brush to put the darker brown on my outer V, i then took the lighter brown again onto a fluffy brush and blended out. I then took the pink again and used it to highlight under my brow. Lastly I took the silver and put that over my lid and onto the inner corner of my eye to brighten it.

These colours look even more fantastic in real life so to speak and the silver made it really sparkly!

I hope you like :-)

Ohhhhh more MUA goodies :-)

Hey Lovelies!

Hope you are all good??

This week the very lovely MUA, make up academy really kindly sent me some products to review and my plan was to do my first youtube review......So I get my iphone all set up & start recording it, all very nerve wracking and I play it back....you cannot hear a word I am saying AND now friends, I am a big girl, I freely admit that but when I watched the video back I saw that I look like the incredible hulk!!! IM HUGE!!! So the diet starts tomorrow and I decided to delete the video :-( I am all for curvy ladies, I think curves are beautiful but I'm not confident enough with my body to get the "fat cow" comments on youtube. So I think I am going to carry on just on here for the time being. I hope you don't mind?

Anyway enough of my body issues and back to my review!!

Here are the items I received:

Firstly I will mention that I already own the Mosaic blusher & the Starry night palette & have swatched the starry night palette Here. Because I already own these I am going to do a giveaway with these items & some others very soon!!

So I will start with the nail polishes, I was sent the colours shattered ice and Quiver and these are "nail quakes" so they give you the shattered effect. I decided to try shattered ice (the silver colour) over a bright pink and here it is.....

Next up is the stunning Extreme Metallics quad in go getter. These colours are so pretty and amazingly pigmented. It says you can use these wet or dry (I am assuming its a different formula to the normal shadows) and they are lovely and creamy. Here's the swatches:

Now onto the gorgeous Trio's I got sent an aaaaamazing green set called Eden, these are all two tone colours that can look completely different depending on the light!

The blue set I have been sent is called blue babe and again its SSSSSTUNING!!

And lastly is the beautiful Pretty Pastels palette, these colours are so so wearable and neutral and would look fab for daytime looks. Here are the swatches:

I also have done a look with only MUA products which is coming up next! Hope you like it!!

I also hope you all enjoyed this review and it has been useful. MUA products are sold in superdrug and their  normal range is £1!! the pro range varies from £2 to £4 but £4 for those palettes is an absolutely amazing price! I love 99.9% of the MUA products I have tried and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

EOTD - Dramatic!!

Hey Lovely people!!

Today I decided to have a play with my gooooorgeous Sleek Caribbean palette!

Excuse the dodgy circles! These are the colours I used.

I only did my eyes so I primed the area and put some ELF shimmering facial whip on my eyes as a base, I then used the white/ creamy colour on my lids. I then put the black just above the crease & I blended that in with the red & I blended away the harsh lines with ELF's eye transformer the very end colour. I then added some more black & again blended it in with the red. I then took a slanted brush & put the red under my eyes, I then did the same with the black. Then I used ELF cream eye liner in black to line my top lashes & on my bottom water line. I then used superdrug double lashes & ELFs regular line mascara. Then I got some red rhinestones, put a blob of lash glue on & stuck them in place with tweezers.

I Hope you like my eye of the day? Would you ever wear a dramatic look like this? if so what occasion?

ELF HAUL TIME!!!! Yippeee

Hey Guys,

I'm soooooo excited!! Last week ELF eyeslipsface.co.uk had one of their amazing 50% off sales!! So of course I took full advantage of this!

 I got theeeeese.......

A Kabuki brush which cost me £2.50!!
Daily brush cleaner £1.75
Mineral infused primer £3.00
Concealer pencil & brush £1.75
Corrective concealer £1.75
Flawless finish foundation in sand £3.25
Studio Matte Lip colour in coral £1.75
studio conditioning lip balm spf15 in mellow Mellon £1.75
Eye transformer £1.75
Shimmer eye pencils in boldly bronzed, grassy green and plum passion for 75p each!
lipstick in natural nymph £1.75
professional 9 pc master set of brushes for £7.50
and a get the look set in glitz and glam (of course!) for £3.75

First thing I will mention is the things I wasn't so keen on. The lipstick in natural nymph has taught me that nude colours do NOT suit me!! The lipstick is pretty & creamy but not at all my colour.
See how light it is, its pretty much my skin colour!

The next thing I'm not so keen on is the corrective concealer. Its just a bit thick and not all that creamy & the 2 skin tones are very similar on the skin, the dark should be darker in my opinion! Also I have no idea what the pink colour is for! Here's the swatches (which were difficult to get as they are quite waxy)
Not very easy to see sorry! light colour, green, pink and a strip along the bottom is the darker colour :-/

The other thing I'm disappointed in, really sadly is the matte lip colour! I adore my other one in tea rose but this one seems much more drying on my lips and the colour isn't as bright as i had thought it would be.

And the last thing is the eye transformer! Ok I will admit, I'm not really sure what these are meant to do! I thought they might be eye primers but they are just like very pale eye shadows! I think they would make nice highlight colours but I haven't had chance to use them yet. Once I find out exactly what I am meant to do with these I might love them.....so watch this space!

Now on to the items I LOVEEEE!!

Firstly, this item I have seen so many mixed reviews on! Some love it, some hate it! I love it!! IT is the studio flawless finish foundation. The colour sand matches my skin amazingly well, the thick consistency gives a really good coverage, it blends sooooo well!!! It is a bit oily but its not oily as in greasy and I have massively oily skin but it sits very nicely on my skin and I have worn it all day and it has lasted well although I am a bit on the shinny side. I might try it tomorrow with MAC oil control lotion and see if that's any better.
Excuse my nails, they need re-doing!! how nars'esque is the packaging?

yummy!!

Pretttty! no not my hand lol

This item was my OHHHHHHHEMMMMMGEEEEE item! the pro 9 piece brush master set! WOW is fab!! the brush holder/case is soooo nice and looks really professional and sleek! and the brushes are amazing! They have white handles rather than the usual studio black (i prefer the black to be honest) I got a powder brush, a tapered blush brush (perfect size for me!), a foundation brush (which is sooo good!!), an eyebrow/eye lash brush, Eyeliner brush, a tapered shadow brush (again amazing!!), eyeshadow brush (sooo good for packing on eye shadow to the lid & perfect size for smaller lids like mine!), a smudger brush and a lip liner brush! What can I say? I bloody love everything about this set!

Looks soooo much nicer in real life!

Next up is my get the look set! This very nearly ended up on my not keen list! I took it out the box and was like "oh!"  It came with a not very nice packaged eye shadow & the colours are pink and dark grey :-/, a black and glitter mascara, a clear, glittery liquid liner and a supper glossy gloss! My first thought was pink and grey together?? BUT I put them on today and they look lovely!! they mascara is better than I thought too and the gloss is very sticky but its a lovely colour! My only let down is the liner, its not very glittery, you can hardly see it when its on. But all in all for £3.75 I am vv happy with the set!

the pink is lovely!

the mascara

Sorry not a great pic! but this is the gloss!

Ok next up, the shimmer eye liners! I love them! they are so so pretty! highly pigmented and soft and creamy to apply!

Next is the conditioning lip balm! When you think of lip balm you think of a sheer stick, well this lovely balm is neither! Its highly pigmented and in a rather large, lovely packaged pot! Its really soft and silky and I love the colour!!
How pigmented?

Look how big it is?

The daily brush cleaner, does exactly what it says on the tin, or bottle! Its a great size and perfect for cleaning brushes quickly in between uses.

Mineral infused primer, this in my opinion is as good as any of the mega expensive primers! its a nice consistency, sits nice on the skin and helps foundation to sit nicer too.

Studio kabuki brush. I brought the kabuki brush from the regular line and I hated it! It was so sharp it made my skin sore so I never used it again! But wow, the studio one is soooo much better!! Its really soft and feels lovely on the skin.
Cute!

And lastly the concealer pencil and brush, I have only used this so far on my water line & it looked nice, I will try it as a concealer and let you know what I think of it.

This colour is light.

So there you go there's my haul review, hope you like it! Have you tried any ELF products? what do YOU love & hate??
